WOSU @ COSI
Center of Science and Industry
Columbus, OH
13,000 square feet
With its proximity to downtown Columbus, COSI, an educational science center and museum, has an enviable site that is well suited to its task of making science accessible and fun. The Ohio State University’s television and radio station, WOSU, has a similar mission to educate, inform, entertain, and inspire its audience. The project created a broadcast studio for WOSU inside COSI. The team developed flexible design solutions to meet the infrastructure needs of WOSU without sacrificing the educational objectives of the museum.
Design solutions included maximizing visibility of the television and radio production areas and studios; opening production spaces into COSI’s public spaces; and designing interactive displays and learning stations related to the history, science, and technological developments of broadcast.
