Burt Hill developed a comprehensive strategic facilities master plan for Wheeling Hospital, a 276-bed facility serving communities in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The master plan included a complete building systems analysis with regard to age, condition, normal life expectancy, and capacity versus load, and defined key renovation programs. As a result of the master plant, Burt Hill has completed numerous projects, including the 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Schiffler Cancer Center. Services offered via the center include radiation therapy, outpatient chemotherapy, and brachytherapy. An addition to the outpatient surgery facilities enlarged pre- and post-operation areas with eight new patient bed spaces. Other projects included a women’s health center and associated child care center, mental health center, dialysis center, pharmacy, and a new lobby and gift shop, in addition to major mechanical system upgrades.
