The Tower at Carnegie Abbey
O'Neill Properties Group
Narragansett Bay, RI
200,000 square feet
As part of a 400-acre development, O’Neill Properties Group commissioned Burt Hill to design an architectural icon to anchor the Carnegie Abbey residential community. The Kaiser Aluminum Tower, an existing structure described as an "eyesore" by members of the nearby Carnegie Abbey Club, was replaced with a new luxury condominium building. Burt Hill’s design creates a prestigious development that delivers unparalleled luxury to the Narragansett Bay community.
The 220-foot tall residential tower is the only westward facing high-rise in the northeastern United States. The building is constructed of cast-in-place reinforced concrete using advanced engineering techniques. Its sand-white, pre-cast exterior is accented by seven-foot tall windows in each residence and on every side. A magnificent entrance paneled in raised mahogany offers beauty, comfort and security, as well as concierge services, business services, and high-speed private/secure elevator service directly into most residences. Tower residences feature large windows, each of which has operable vents, nine-foot ceilings on average, and at least one balcony.
Designed in the style of New York’s Fifth Avenue, the commanding, 22-story Tower at Carnegie Abbey is now a landmark building overlooking the Carnegie Abbey Club. Burt Hill’s design offers sweeping vistas of the championship golf course and breathtaking views of the marina and Narragansett Bay coastline from 80 luxury residences.
