As Saint Leo University begins to implement its strategic plan to shift from a predominantly commuter / distance learning institution to a more residential university, the role of the student center has become increasingly important. To that end, the existing student center was renovated to cater to the increase in on-campus students. The Student Community Center now features a theater, lounge, lobbies, conference and meeting rooms, and offices for student affairs, in addition to a new dining hall and chapel. The structure was designed in a familiar Spanish Mission architectural style and built around a “town square,” offering a true campus destination for all members of the Saint Leo community to meet, socialize, and exchange ideas. More than just a collection of services, the student community center is a hub of activity for students, faculty, and staff.
