62,500 square feet

In order to renovate the 55,000-square-foot building built in the mid-1960s, a tight project completion schedule had to be met.  The small 2.2-acre site did not allow for modular classrooms to be added for phased construction and the district did not have facilities available to transfer students.  The only option was to complete the entire renovation in one summer.

The program called for the complete renovation of the school including all finishes; casework; windows; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; and the enlargement and reconfiguration of the library, support spaces, and entries.  A 7,500-square-foot addition houses a new clearly defined entry, a greenhouse, an administration science workroom / classroom, and storage areas.  Renovations to the site design provide enhanced security, additional parking spaces, and improved play areas for students.
