As one of the largest medical device manufacturers in the world, Smith & Nephew required a flexible workplace that would offer enough space to handle its research and development operations. Planned around a dramatic two-story atrium, the firm’s headquarters building in Minuteman Park includes both corporate space and state-of-the-art research laboratories. The design offers flexibility in space planning to accommodate single or multiple tenants, while providing controlled access and security. Staff can enjoy the relaxing landscape, featuring retention ponds and wetlands in a unique pastoral setting, and pedestrian paths along existing stone walls and hedgerows.
