Penn/Tsinghua T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies

To further secure our industry reputation as a leader in research-based innovation, Burt Hill accepted an invitation to be a member of the Penn/Tsinghua T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies, a joint venture between colleagues in China and at the University of Pennsylvania.  This new global initiative addresses and affects the environmental issues faced by the building industry today.  The mission of Burt Hill’s applied research initiative aligns well with the mission of the Center, as we both strive to develop new knowledge, tools, processes and techniques for our industry.

As a founding member, we received a seat on the Center’s Advisory Board, giving us the opportunity to advise the Center on current professional challenges faced by our industry and help to shape the direction of the Center’s research.  Such an influential role is not uncommon for Burt Hill, as our legacy of serving as experts on energy-related issues spans more than 30 years.  Participation provides us with access to the Center’s educational resources for conducting focused research and problem-solving, as well as the opportunity to display our products and projects to key audiences.
