Jebel Ali Village

When Burt Hill took on the challenge of planning Jebel Ali Village, our greatest priority was unity. In a place as culturally diverse as Dubai, how could the design of a community help bring together all of the unique cultures so that everyone feels as though they belong? Through research and the examination of successful communities elsewhere, we found the answer in Jebel Ali’s collective heritage and sought to build on the integral harmony that has existed in the area for years. The Jebel Ali school, clubhouse, and mosque combine with the introspective nature of the neighborhood, the common public places, and the unique topography to create a tightly knit village. The focal point of the entire development is the main park, which features football pitches, walking paths, swimming, and a skate section, where every member of the neighborhood will feel welcome.
