Gray's Woods Elementary School

Burt Hill was instrumental in the development of district standards for the construction and renovation for all elementary schools in the State College Area School District.  In response to the newly defined standards, and a recently constructed residential development nearby, a new elementary school was needed to house over 400 K-5 students, enhance the residential community, and provide state-of-the-art technology.  The one-story building’s structural elements draw their form from the surrounding naturally wooded area.  The building materials and scale enhance the residential community.  A flexible state-of-the-art information data cabling system provides computer usage throughout the school and adaptability for future changes in technology.
