To enhance the curriculum between its middle and high schools, a single campus was created to house the 1,300-student middle school and the 1,000-student high school under one roof.  The design incorporates the "school-within-a-school" concept:  two separate schools under one roof, with individual identities but shared support areas and maintenance.  This offers flexibility to accommodate changing demographics and instruction methods.  Shared facilities include administrative offices, a 650-seat auditorium, a central media center with satellites in other school venues, and a kitchen and food court.  A technical and mechanical "spine" above the second floor commons serves as the central nervous system for communications, data, power, and climate controls.
