Located on the Palm Jumeirah Crescent, the iconic four-story GEMS Wellington primary school fits right in at its A-list address. Designed to accommodate 950 students, the facility includes pre-K through sixth grade classrooms, crèche facilities with play areas, art rooms, a library, a cafeteria with amazing views of the water, indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, and guest houses. An important design goal was to create a sense of place that is intimately tied to the surrounding waterscape, marine ecology, and culture. The marine environment becomes a teaching tool through the introduction of water, which can subsequently be used for instruction on micro marine environments, desalinization experiments, and simple play.
