The renovation and addition to the elementary school complements the surrounding residential and commercial area, and takes advantage of the panoramic views provided by the existing site. A building block interior theme is accented by the use of primary colors. The primary shapes of a circle, triangle, and square in the floor pattern help direct the 400+ K-5 students through the hallways. A standard was developed for a state-of-the-art information data cabling system to provide computer usage throughout the building. The two methods of arrival at the school, by bus or by car, are separated for student safety. Additional safety measures include monitoring of the exits, and the strategic location of the administration office area to closely observe the arrival of all visitors to the school.
