Binghamton University is undergoing the replacement of two existing residential life complexes on its upstate New York campus.  Burt Hill, in association with Trudeau Architects, is designing the new East Campus Housing Complex.  The complex includes 3,000 beds of student housing in eight residence halls and a collegiate center. Project goals include promoting student interaction, supporting and maintaining the living / learning environment, maximizing space utilization through flexible multi-functional design, and designing sustainable facilities that meet LEED Certification standards.

The first two phases of the project include the replacement of Newing College with four new buildings, in addition to a co-recreational field, basketball court, volleyball court, and other site amenities. Phase three includes a new collegiate center with dining facilities, a late night café, meeting spaces, lounges, residential community offices, and a computer center. The last phase of the project involves replacing and relocating the Dickinson residential complex, including four new buildings and a separate recreational field, basketball and volleyball courts, and additional site amenities.
