Al Wurai'ah Valley

Fujairah, UAE

17,000 acres

What started out as a quest to develop a master plan for 5,000 acres of raw canyon terrain in the UAE, grew to include a strategic vision covering over 17,000 acres of prime tourism development opportunity with a strategic link from the Indian Ocean coastline to the Hajar Mountains of Fujairah.  The Canyons, a wadi-carved mountainous site, and the Strip, an adjacent orchard and beach tract, are combined into a singular vision that will catapult the emirate of Fujairah into a new era of conservation and tourism creating a visionary multi-billion dollar development hub on the Indian Ocean of the UAE.

The master plan includes a series of water features linked by the wadis, with emphasis on centers with different uses of water and Fujairah's agricultural heritage.  A welcoming "green corridor" woven along wadis provides nature-based activities as recreational amenities and village type environs that are nestled into the valleys.  Main features include a resort with boutique hotel, apartment villas, and restaurants; a mountain village with retail shops, town center, hotel, and museums; a golf and tennis center; as well as various performance theaters, artist studios, restaurants, and museums.
