Armstrong Atlantic State University Student Center

Savannah, GA

Due to an increasing student body and its move toward a residential campus, Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) found that its existing student center was no longer sufficient. To prepare for the extensive student life services necessary to accommodate these changes, AASU commissioned Burt Hill and the Architecture Group of Atlanta to complete renovations and an addition to the existing union, the Memorial College Center (MCC).
The new student center is a single structure that expands from the MCC and includes a bookstore, cafeteria, student quadrangle, and central / regional energy plant. The project also included extensive renovations and early planning for a future library addition. This is the first in a series of projects aimed at transforming the AASU campus and student experience.
