Washington DC

In addition to its role as the heart of the U.S. government, Washington, DC's, growing industry also includes the areas of education, finance, and scientific research.  Many of the nation's monuments and museums are located here, drawing millions of tourists every year.  The Washington Monument is the tallest structure in DC, as the skyline features no skyscrapers.  Washington takes its name from the first president, George Washington, while the District of Columbia was named for Christopher Columbus.
