Historically known for its steel industry, Pittsburgh's economy is now based largely on healthcare, education, and technology.  It is also the country's largest inland port, taking advantage of its proximity to three rivers (Allegheny, Ohio, and Monongahela).  Home to several Fortune 500 Companies, Pittsburgh is within 500 miles of more than half the U.S. population, and the city is less than 90 minutes flying time from 20 states and Canada.
