John Kosar

John began his career with Burt Hill in 1957, became a partner in 1968, and has experienced firsthand the firm’s growth from 10 employees to more than 1,000. An active principal in the firm today, he not only maintains heavy involvement in the education, housing, financial, and corporate office sectors, but can often be found introducing himself and personally welcoming new employees to the firm. A recognized leader in community, civic, and professional activities, John was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Inc. Magazine and Arthur Young & Company in 1989, and has served as a judge for the competition four times. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Butler County business community in 1991. John has previously served as a Director of Sprint and National Underground Storage, and currently serves as a trustee for the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance and YMCA. He is on the board of directors of St. Francis Central Hospital, the Pennsylvania Economy League, March of Dimes, Catholic Charities, and Butler Health System Foundation. He is also active in the Pennsylvania Association of School Board Officials. John earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, and holds architectural licenses in eight states.
