Harry is chairman of Burt Hill while also remaining an active practitioner.  Since joining the firm in 1974, he has been responsible for the development of energy-efficient, environmentally-responsive solutions for a full range of clients, and has been active in promoting sustainable design within the building industry.  Over the years, Harry’s philosophy and leadership have inspired staff to explore new solutions to the challenges faced by the industry, as evidenced by a legacy of involvement in our internal research program.  Harry is a nationally-recognized expert in “green building” design, and several of his projects are among the American Institute of Architects “Top Ten Green Buildings.”  He was a founding member and past chair of both the National AIA Committee on the Environment and the Potomac Region Solar Energy Association, and served as a director of the U.S. Green Building Council.  Harry is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
